Shearer wasn't a diver, I don't think?

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
Very Unlikely he will receive any punishment. Part of the England Squad (don't you know) for Russia. Seem to remember Gerrard getting away with just about anything season leading up to a big Competition, and don't get me Started on Shearer

The English have a proud tradition of diving Gary Lineker & Michael Owen were masters of the art Kane & Alli are just continuing it. Cunts

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
I’m in no way defending him or anyone diving about but the Fuckwits at the Referee’s Association are as much the blame by telling footballers to go down for them to make a decision of whether there is a foul or not. Your average footballer thinks nothing of the embarrassing theatrical dives that we see. If Referee’s want to judge acting then go and fucking work for BAFTA. Added to all this there’s the ex footballer co commentator who watch half a dozen angles in slow motion replays saying “ooooo look there is a touch there”, well fucking hell its still a contact sport isn’t it???? Wankers ruining football.
I saw Josimars goal from the 1986 World Cup vs Poland the other day (I’m sure there are many goals that anyone can pick out) and there are 3 opportunities in his run into the box that a modern footballer would end up diving to win a free kick on the edge of the box or penalty before he smashes it in spectacularly from a ridiculous angle. We will not see a goal like that again in the World Cup.

Blokes used to be blokes. Hard, fair, honest and sporting.

Unless they were Italian, Spanish, South American, Leeds and Northern.

do most gay players scream when thy get their noses broken? Is it just a gay thing?

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
At one point, my team's centre forward was gay, and he didn't scream when he got his nose mashed all over his face (the consensus was that it was an accident, not a foul, but it must've stung).

It was properly broken, and there was blood everywhere.

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
In my footballing days i recall no-one screaming. The tackles that used to be flying in were either so late they completely missed or the kitchen sink variety where everyone went flying, but some part of the ball was probably touched by the tackler and we all got up and carried on. If you did get hurt you it last about 5 seconds or niggled for a bit longer and you played on.

Today's game is pretty poor. Players get touched and go down hold the wrong part of the leg (Eden Hazard, kick on foot, goes down holding shin) complete with screaming. Some go down as if shot, don't get a foul and run back into position as if nothing happened. I find it all very sad.

My favourite tackle was the slide tackle from 5 yards away. You needed a nice muddy grass pitch with plenty of surface water and you timed it so that you got the ball just before he other player touched it, hoofed the ball in to touch and sent the other player into the stratosphere.

Those were the days.

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
Fucking stupid to let them off diving because they look like they're be playing for England.

Haven't they realised the matches will be reffed by foreigners?

Though I suppose getting sent off in an important match will bring them crashing down to Earth, in a way which might drive home the dangers of deliberately, er, crashing down to Earth...

He is a class player, when is he going to cut out the cheating diving,he needs to be hauled over the coals by the powers to be and suspended, some hopes he's English and plays for England?

Ali, Kane, Zaha, Wiltshere, Sterling, Rose, Walker, Rashford/ The list goes on, and on. That's why I wont be cheering on England this world cup out in Russia. Cant stomach a fucking cheat!!! And to think we could have "Supporters" cheering these cunts on!!! No fucking way!!!

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
The ex pros are mostly ignorant around all this. Their favourite line is that he was touched so is entitled to go down as if it is somewhere in the rules that you’re not allowed to touch someone on a football pitch.

Not that I’m giving Alli and the worst offenders a pass because I’m not but the referees are also complicit in this. They won’t give a penalty unless someone does go down which also leads to people exaggerating contact.

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
I really don't know how he gets away with it so much! Slightest touch and he's over. The so-called experts usually say that he's entitled to go down... mugs!

When I think of how Paolo got treated by so many refs with what today would be cast iron certainties for a penalty. Remember that game when he wanted to come off after having 3 definite pens refused?

Book or send the horrible little turd off....

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
What the game has become unfortunately, as most people 'within' the game, all just say it's part of it now and accept it.

Probably why I don't watch much football now, as I was brought up in an era when there was proper tackling and not much play acting around, so I hate it.

Each to their own.

Re: Dele Alli - biggest ever diver in the EPL?
I see a couple of people in the game have come out and said it will be alright if he does it in the summer. Now I'm not against these cunts going down easily as some are (it's the career threatening tackles that gets my back up) but for people in the game to come out and say that is imo fucking disgraceful.

Drogba was pretty good as he threw in an agonised scream for good measure.
